1745 - Aldover, bisbat de Tortosa: Joaquim Pla, jesuit and reputed linguist.

1946 - Terrassa, Vallès Occidental: Montserrat Alavedra i Comas, Catalan soprano (died 1991).

1945 - Avinyó, Provença: Muriel Casals i Couturier, Catalan economist and politician (died 2016).

1949 - Barcelona: Núria de Gispert i Català, President of the Parliament of Catalonia.

1959 - Sant Cugat del Vallès, Vallès Occidental: Emma Vilarasau Tomàs, Catalan actress.

1964 - Castelló de la Plana, Plana Alta: Alberto Fabra Part, Valencian politician in the Partido Popular de la Comunitat Valenciana, mayor of Castellón and president de la Generalitat Valenciana from 2011 to 2015.

1982 - Castelló de la Plana: Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Valencian actor.

1982 - Ulldecona, Montsià: Adam Raga i Sans, Catalan trial rider.

Deaths

1653 - Vic, Osona: Joan Lluís de Montcada, doctor in canon and civil law, deacon and canon of the Cathedral of Vic.

1809 - El Timbaler del Bruc (The Drummer Boy of Bruc)

1976 - Auritz, Navarra: Oriol Solé Sugranyes, Catalan revolutionary activist (born 1948).

2013 - Riera de Gaià, Tarragonès: Bigas Luna, Catalan film director and screenwriter (born 1946).

2013 - Barcelona: Miquel Poblet i Orriols, Catalan cyclist.
