1939 - Madrid, A group of 13 women aged between 18 and 29 years old, known as Las Trece Rosas Rojas or the Thirteen Red Roses, were executed by Francoist troops

1923 - Barcelona: Ramon Noè i Hierro, Catalan illustrator and painter.
    
1929 - València: Andreu Alfaro, sculptor involved in the Grup Parpalló (died 2012).

Deaths

1955 - Sabadell (Vallès Occidental): Magdalena Calonge i Panyella, a Catalan believer in theosophy
   
2009 - Barcelona: Jordi Sabater Pi, Catalan primatologist, world specialist in ethology (born 1922).
