Located on Avinguda de Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia on Montjuïc, CaixaForum Barcelona is a cultural centre run by La Caixa bank, which consists of an art museum, auditorium and other spaces.
The centre occupies the beautiful former textile factory, Fàbrica Casaramona, by the modernista architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch so is well worth visiting in its own right.
The CaixaForum is best known for its interesting art exhibitions, to which Caixa customers have free admission, but it also offers talks, workshops and educational activities.
Perhaps less well-known is the DNIT programme, which offers concerts and performances from cutting edge musicians and DJs on the last Friday of each month in the Auditorium.
During the summer months of July and August, CaixaForum organises a series of concerts and theatrical performances under the title Nits d'Estiu or Summer Nights.
