Castelldefels Hotels offer accommodation oriented towards both holidaymakers during the summer months and out of season business travellers.
Located 20 km south of Barcelona and just 7 km from Barcelona Airport
along the C-32 motorway, Castelldefels is in an ideal location for any
kind of visitor.
It's main attraction for the holidaymaker is the around 5 kilometres of golden fine sand beaches but the Olympic Canal and its associated water sports also draw a large number of people.
The town itself is divided into two sections by the C-32 and although the inland section is within walking distance of the beach, if you're coming on holiday it makes sense to book a hotel on the sea side of the motorway in the area known as Castelldefels Platja, literally Castelldefels Beach.
This is obviously less important for the business traveller, who is
staying in Castelldefels because of its proximity to the Airport, the
trade fairs area south of Barcelona as well as Viadecans Business Park.
Many hotels, particularly in the higher price bracket, are equipped with conference facilities and business centres making them an attractive proposition outside the holiday season.
Three 4 Star Hotels are located right on the beach - Bel Air Hotel, Hotel Playafels and Best Western Hotel Mediteraneo - and as they all look so good, it's very difficult to choose between them.
Located in the town centre BCN Events is definitely oriented towards business travellers whilst Gran Hotel Rey Don Jaime I, which is in the hills outside Castelldefels, would be suitable for both business people or holidaymakers looking to explore the lovely inland countryside of Barcelona Province.
With only four available hotels, the offer of 3 Star accommodation in Castelldefels is a little more limited.
Ciudad de Castelldefels and Hotel Luna are both on Passeig de la Marina a very short walk from the beach, whilst Hotel Canal Olímpic is close to Olympic Canal, from which the beach is still conveniently walkable.
So all three would make excellent holiday accommodation.
Hotel Flora Parc, however, is located on the outskirts of town and is obviously a business hotel.
I am very impressed by the cheap 1 and 2 Star hotels option in Castelldefels, particularly bearing in mind the needs of budget holiday travellers.
The 2 Star Aparthotel Solifemar and Hotel Rodsan Suizo both look out directly onto the beach, whilst the very pleasant Hotel Neptuno is set just a couple of streets back.
Of the 1 Star Hotels, I'd definitely go for Aparthotel Bardon once again primarily because of the location.
