Located in the Parc del Fòrum in the El Besòs i El Maresme neighbourhood of Sant Martí, like the rest of the park, the Forum Bathing Zone or Zona de Banys del Fòrum was created in 2004, when Barcelona hosted the first Universal Forum of Cultures.
Not technically one of the Barcelona Beaches, this all concrete bathing area is set against the backdrop of the famously sculptural photovoltaic plaque and you get into the water either by using the steps or by just jumping in.
There is a lifeguard service, showers and public toilet and the Zona de Banys has particularly good facilities for the physically handicapped with submergible wheelchairs, a crane and volunteers on hand to help.
There is no admission charge and the bathing area is open from 11 am to 2 pm during the summer months.
There are few facilities inside the Fòrum area but you have Rambla del Prim and the Diagonal Mar Shopping Centre very close so there are plenty of bars within walking distance.
As far as public transport is concerned, the Fòrum is well-served by metro, trams and buses.
