1826 - Altafulla, Tarragonès: Joaquim Gatell i Folch, Catalan geographer and explorer (died 1879).
1895 - Mataró, Maresme: Josep Pascual i Vila, Catalan chemist (died 1979).
1912 - Benilloba, Alicante: Federico Antonio Borrell Garcia, Taíno, militant anarcho-syndicalist. His death would be captured by photographer Robert Capa on September 25th 1936 in his famous photo “The Falling Soldier”.
1958 - Barcelona: Carles Francino i Murgades, Catalan journalist.
2003 - Arenys de Mar, Maresme: Josep Maria Gironella i Pous, Catalan writer in the Spanish language (born 1917).
