1993 - Andorra: The referendum to approve the country's first Constitution is held.
1844 - Alcoi: Llorenç Casanova i Ruiz, Valencian painter
1883 - Barcelona: Joan Manén i Planas, violin virtuoso and composer.
1923 - Cambrils: Josep Salceda i Castells, official chronicler of the town of Cambrils
1937 - Andratx, Mallorca: Baltasar Porcel i Pujol, Mallorcan writer, journalist and literary critic
1947 - València: Carles Mira, Valencian screenwriter and film director
1950 - Pontellà: Pere Figueres, singer from Catalunya Nord.
1978 - Madrid: Agustin Rueda Sierra, Catalan anarchist and anti-Francoist, murdered by the police in Carabanchel prison (born 1952).
2001 - Reus (el Baix Camp): Ramon Barnils, Catalan journalist.
