1644 - Lleida: The French army is beaten by the Spanish army in the Battle of Lleida at the city gates as they were trying to conquer the city (Reapers' War).
1831 - Prats de Molló, Alt Vallespir: Carles Bosch de la Trinxeria, Catalan writer of La Renaixença (died 1897).
1837 - Igualada: Benet Malvehí i Piqué, illustrator and yachtsman.
1897 - Barcelona: Vilfred Ricart, Catalan engineer, famous for his work on Automobiles and Aviation. He was particularly important in the design and manufacture of plane, car and lorry engines, such as the legendary Pegaso Z-102 or the Hispano Suiza.
1909 - Cocentaina, Comtat: Gustau Pascual Falcó, Valencian musician and composer, author of the paso-doble Paquito el Chocolatero (died 1946).
1948 - Sallent, Bages: Jaume Sorribas i Garcia, Catalan actor (died 2008).
1962 - Barcelona: Teresa Solana i Mir, writer of detective stories.
1972 - La Seu d'Urgell, Oliana, l'Alt Urgell: Isidre Esteve Pujol, Catalan rally driver.
1897 - Barcelona: Josep Fontserè i Mestre, Catalan builder and architect, such as Parc de la Ciutadella and el Mercat del Born.
1939 - Barcelona: Joaquim Ruyra i Oms, Catalan writer.
