1993 - Terrassa: Els Minyons de Terrassa build a 2 de 9 amb folre i manilles for the first time in casteller history. This achievement marks the golden age in the History of Castells, which is called the "Silver Era" by casteller historians.
1815 - Barcelona: Josep Oriol Mestres i Esplugas, Catalan architect and nativity scene designer.
1852 - Vila-real (la Plana Baixa): Francesc Tàrrega, Valencian composer and guitarrist (died 1909).
1736 - Barcelona (Barcelonès): Manuel Mariano Ribera, Mercedarian priest and chronicler of Cardona.
1874 - Rome, Italy: Marià Fortuny i Marsal, Catalan painter, illustrator and engraver (born 1838).
1941 - Barcelona (Barcelonès): Prudenci Bertrana i Comte, Catalan modernista writer.
2000 - Barcelona (Barcelonès): Ernest Lluch, economist and Spanish Minister of Health, murdered by ETA.
