1993 - Turkey: Sergi Barjuan plays his first game for FC Barcelona in the Ali Sami Yen stadium against Galatasaray.
   
2003 - Barcelona: Euthanasia is applied to the albino gorilla Floquet de Neu, which is Snowflake in English, to stop him from suffering due to theskin  cancer he has.
   
2005 - Roma (el Laci, Italy): After the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) annuls the vote in Fresno, held on November 26th 2004, the assembly FIRS repeats the vote but the definitive admission of the Federació Catalana de Patinatge is rejected.
       
2005 - Barcelona: The Mediterranean Conference of Nations without a State is held, with the participation of Cabília, Corsica, Kurdistan, the Catalan Countries, Palestine, Western Sahara, Sardinia and Sicily.

Births

1620 - Riudoms, Baix Camp: Beat Bonaventura Gran, Franciscan friar who was proclaimed blessed by the Catholic church (died 1684).
   
1713 - Petra, Mallorca: Juníper Serra, Mallorcan Franciscan friar, who founded the mission of the Alta Califòrnia and is venerated as a saint by the Catholic church (m. 1784).
   
1742 - Barcelona: Antoni Capmany, Catalan businessman, catalanist and benefactor.
   
1806 - Gironella (el Berguedà): Antoni Roca i Dencàs, Catalan textile manufacturer, politician and banker.
   
1900 - València, l'Horta: Maximilià Thous i Llorens, Valencian writer and politician (died 1957).
   
1939 - Barcelona: Josep Maria Huertas Claveria, Catalan writer and journalist (died 2007).


Deaths

1234 - Guillem de Cabanelles, Bishop of Girona, 1227-1234).
    
1988 - Barcelona: Marià Manent i Cisa, Catalan poet, prose, literary critic, translator and cultural activist (born 1898).
    
2013 - Reus, Baix Camp: Maria Dolors Baena Font, Catalan writer (born 1967).
