Every FC Barcelona supporter should know the words to El Cant del Barça so here is a video of the official recording with the words in Catalan and a translation of the lyric into English.

El Cant del Barça is the official name of FC Barcelona’s rousing anthem with words by Josep Maria Espinàs and Jaume Picas and music by Manuel Valls.

Although the song has a very traditional feel, it was actually only written in 1974 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the History of FC Barcelona..

Below the video, you’ll find the full lyric in Catalan so you can sing along and then the translation into English so that you understand what you are singing about.

I really think you can’t claim to be a proper FC Barcelona fan if you don’t know the words to song, so get practising in preparation for your next visit to Camp Nou!

El Cant del Barça
in Catalan

Tot el camp
És un clam
Som la gent blaugrana
Tant se val d’on venim
Si del sud o del nord
Ara estem d’acord
Estem d’acord,
Una bandera ens agermana
Blaugrana al vent
Un crit valent
Tenim un nom el sap tothom
Barça, Barça, Baaarça!

Jugadors
Seguidors,
Tots units fem força
Són molt anys plens d’afanys,
són molts gols que hem cridat
I s’ha demostrat,S’ha demostrat
Que mai ningu no ens podrà torcer
Blaugrana al vent
Un crit valent
Tenim un nom el sap tothom
Barça, Barça, Baaarça!

FC Barcelona Anthem
English Translation

The whole stadium
Loudly cheers
We’re the blue and claret supporters
It matters not where we hail from
Whether it’s the south or the north
Now we all agree
We all agree,
One flag unites us in brotherhood.
Blue and claret blowing in the wind
One valiant cry
We’ve got a name that everyone knows
Barça, Barça, Baaarça!

Players
Supporters
United we are strong.
We’ve achieved much over the years
We’ve shouted many goals
And we have shown,we have shown
That no one can ever break us
Blue and claret blowing in the wind
One valiant cry
We’ve got a name that everyone knows
Barça, Barça, Baaarça!
