1907 - Barcelona: The first issue of Feminal, a feminist publication in Catalan directed by Carme Kurtz, is published and runs until 1917.

1938 - Catalonia: The republican authorities order the mobilisation of the young men born in 1920 and 1921, known as the Lleva del Biberó or the Troops of the Baby Bottle.

1982 - Madrid, Spain: The Spanish Congress passes the Estatut d'Autonomia de la Comunitat Valenciana.


1885 - Cocentaina, el Comtat: Enrique Pérez Margarit, Valencian musician, composer and conductor.

1942 - Castelló d'Empúries, Alt Empordà: Joan Alsina i Hurtós, Catalan priest, murdered in Chile by the Pinochet Regime.


1528 - Salern, Kingdom of Sicily: Hug de Montcada i de Cardona, Valencian military leader and poet.

1901 - Sabadell: Joan Massagué i Vilarrúbias, Mayor of Sabadell.

1936 - Barcelona: The brothers Josep and Miquel Badia, members of Estat Català, murdered by four gunmen associated with FAI.
