1705 - Dénia (la Marina Alta): Field Marshal Joan Baptista Basset i Ramos disembarks in the town, occupied by Felipe V's troops, and with the support of the population, proclaims Carles III as legitimate king (The War of the Spanish Succession).


1890 - Barcelona: Daniel Cardona i Civit, Catalan pro-independence politician (died 1943).
