1932 - Barcelona: Lluís Maria Xirinacs i Damians, Catalanist priest and politician.
1162 - Borgo San Dalmazzo, Piemont: Ramon Berenguer IV, Count of Barcelona.
1458 - Vatican, Papal States: Alfons de Borja, who reigned as Pope Callixtus III. He was Valencian and spoke Catalan. (born 1358).
1929 - Barcelona: Guillem August Tell i Lafont, Catalan lawyer, notary and poet, master of Gai Saber in 1900 (n. 1861).
1936 - Serra del Guadarrama, Madrid, Spain: Josep Sunyol i Garriga, Catalan politician and president of FC Barcelona, shot dead by nationalist troops (born 1898).
