Barcelona Aquarium or L'Aquàrium de Barcelona is the most important marine leisure and education centre in the Mediterranean and is a wonderful place to visit for all the family.
The installations comprise 35 different aquariums, which are home to a vast array of more than 11,000 animals of over 450 different species, many of which are rare and exotic.
The centrepiece of the Aquarium de Barcelona is an 80-metre tunnel that allows you to walk through an undersea world of the Oceanarium and large and spectacular marine animals around you, such as sharks and stingray, right up close.
There are also themed aquaria that cover the Mediterranean as well as tropical species and there is also a children's zone, which is lots of fun. Don't miss the daily events that include penguins, sharks, rays and moray eels.
Barcelona Aquarium is located on the Moll d'Espanya in the middle of Barcelona's Port Vell right next to the Maremagnum shopping centre and can be reached either from La Rambla de Mar at the bottom of La Rambla or from La Barceloneta side of the port.
