Barcelona New Year's Eve

A Mega-Celebration at Montjuic

New Year's Eve in Barcelona is a symbol for the city with international media coverage on a similar level to Sydney, London or New York.

Avinguda Maria Cristina and the Font de Montjuïc is the venue for a megaparty to welcome in the Barcelona New Year and the event is being organised by Turisme de Barcelona with the support of the Ajuntament, Fira de Barcelona, la Cambra de Comerç, el Gremi d'Hotels and Movistar.

There is always a massive firework display and this and the light show are a great chance for Barcelona to show itself as an artistic brand.

Alcoholic drinks will not be on sale and the event will begin at 11.30 and finish at 12.15 and the aim is definitely to compete for worldwide media attention.

To ring in 2018, two massive screens will be set up on either side of Avinguda Maria Cristina and clocks will be projected onto them.

The event is planned to attract thousands of local and foreign visitors so it is recommended you get there early.

Grapes will be provided by Mercabarna
