1307 - Corona d'Aragó: Jaume the Just orders the persecution in the Knights Templar.

- Barcelona: Lluís Maria Xirinacs i Damians begins a 42-day hunger strike in front of the Modelo Prison. demanding amnesty for political prisoners

- Osona, Vic: The Mossos d'Esquadra a Catalunya substitutes the Cuerpo Nacional de Policia and the Guàrdia Civil as the force of public order and citizen security in the comarca.

- Madrid: Five members of the Joventuts d'Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya chain themselves to the headquarters of COPE at 11 am with the support of six more members and the ERC deputies Joan Puig and Joan Tardà.

- Barcelona: More than 200,000 people demonstrate for the right to decide.

- Berga, The pro-independence group Dóna la cara per la Independència is created.


1869 - Barcelona: Joan Padrós i Rubió, Catalan sports director and businessman, one of the founders of Real Madrid Club de Futbol and the first president of the club (1902-1904).
1916 - Roda de Ter, Osona: Francesc Ribas i Sanglas, Catalan footballer.
1941 - Mequinensa, Baix Cinca: Jesús Moncada i Estruga, writer in the Catalan language born in the Franja d'Aragó.


1921 - Lo Mont, Gascunya: Armand Jacquey, French general and politician.
1985 - El Grau de València: Agustí Centelles, photographer (born 1909).
2008 - Barcelona: Joan Baptista Humet, Catalan singer-songwriter (58 years old).
