1886 - Sabadell: Amadeu Aragay i Daví, Catalan politician, businessman and trades unionist.
2008 - Alicante (Alacantí): Mikel de Epalza i Ferrer, arabist and translator of Basque origin.
December 6th is the Day of the Spanish Constitution and is a public holiday. It is also the Saints' Day of Sant Nicolau and, although winter is upon us, it is still an excuse for Festa Majors around Catalonia and the Catalan-speaking countries.
