1419 - Andorra: The Bishop of Urgell authorises the creation of the Consell General d'Andorra, known as Consell de la Terra.
1874 - Sarrià (Barcelona): Republican volunteers take on the Spanish army.
1972 - Vandellòs (el Baix Camp): The nuclear power station Vandellòs I starts operating.
1991 - Sant Joan Despí (Baix Llobregat): Televisió de Catalunya starts broadcasting Club Super3, a children's programme with gags that allow kids to get involved with the club. Parallel to the creation of the programme, other activities such as real world club membership were developed. Twenty years later the club now has more than 1,100,000 members.
2007 - Viella (Túnel de Viella): 100m of the false ceiling of the north entrance collapses. It reopens five days later.
1923 - Barcelona: Joan Baptista Codina i Formosa, Catalan philologist and ecclesiast.
1998 - París (França): Manuel Viusà, Catalan painter and patriot.
2003 - Peníscola (Baix Maestrat, País Valencià): Alfred Ayza Roca, Valencian philologist and writer.
In 2018, Sunday February 11th is the main day of Carnival, which is known as Carnestoltes in Catalan.
