1939 - Xàtiva: Bombing of the station of Xàtiva by the fascist Italian airforce, which caused 129 dead.
1987 - Sa Dragonera, Mallorca: The urbanisation plan for the island is stopped judicially.
2004 - Parc Natural del Cadí-Moixeró: The first wild wolf in 70 years is detected in the Principality. He had strayed from the Italian Apennine Mountains.
1843 - València: Eduard Boscà i Casanovas, Valencian doctor and naturalist (died 1924).
1876 - Esparreguera, Província de Barcelona: Amadeu Cuscó i Panadès, Catalan musician (died 1942).
1940 - Barcelona: Robert Saladrigas i Riera, Catalan writer and journalist.
1980 - Ontinyent, Vall d'Albaida: Juan Carlos Ferrero, Valencian tennist.
February 12th is the Saints' Day of Santa Eulàlia, who is the co-patron saint of Barcelona, and is motive for the city's winter festival and others around Catalonia and Catalan countries.
