1902 - Barcelona: A general strike is declared and 100,000 workers participate.

1949 - Barcelona: The Francoist authorities execute PSUC members, Joaquim Puig i Pidemunt, Angel Carrero Sancho, Pere Valverde Fuentes and Numen Mestre Ferrando, by firing squad.

1987 - Barcelona: The rector of the UAB closes the university after students occupy the rectorate.
