1980 - Barcelona: The first volume of Diccionari etimològic i complementari de la llengua catalana by Joan Coromines is published.

2006 - Barcelona: A demonstration called by the Plataforma pel Dret de Decidir is held in Barcelona under the title "Som una nació i tenim el dret de decidir" (We are a nation and we have the right to decide), asking for respect for the text of the Estatut passed by the Parliament of Catalonia.

1954 - Sabadell (Vallès Occidental): Joan Vilatobà i Fígols, Catalan photographer and painter.

1991 - Palma (Mallorca): Francesc de Borja Moll i Casasnovas, Menorcan philologist and linguist.
