1919 - Barcelona: The Sindicat Únic d'Aigua, Gas i Electricitat of the CNT begins La Canadenca strike.

1957 - Barcelona: The first Assemblea Lliure d'Estudiants is held at the University of Barcelona. It is put down by the Francoist authorities with a number of students being arrested.


1666 - el Poal, Pla d'Urgell: Antoni Desvalls i de Vergós, Catalan Austriacist military leader (died 1724).

1902 - Banyoles: Maria Vinyes i Mayola, Catalan teacher. (died 1989)

1955 - Vilanova i la Geltrú, Garraf: Josep Piqué i Camps, Catalan politician.


1911 - Barcelona (Barcelonès): Isidre Nonell i Monturiol, Catalan painter and illustrator (born 1872)

1912 - Barcelona: Agustí Rius i Borrell, Catalan teacher (born 1912).

2010 - Barcelona: Odette Pinto, radio journalist(n. 1932)

2012 - Castellar del Vallès, Vallès Occidental: Eufemio Garcia, first patient in Catalonia to live a normal life with a long-term mechanical ventricular system (born 1955)
