1957 - Barcelona: The first Assemblea Lliure d'Estudiants is held at the University of Barcelona. It is put down by the Francoist authorities with a number of students being arrested.



1726 - La Coruña, Galícia: Antoni de Villarroel, military defender of Barcelona during the siege of 1714 at the age of 69.

1927 - Sabadell: Francesc de Paula Bedós i Arnal, metge, Catalan writer and book lover.

1938 - Barcelona: Miquel Llobet i Solés, Catalan composer and guitarist at the age of 59.

1985 - Barcelona: Salvador Espriu, Catalan poet at the age of 71.
