1018 - Barcelona: Berenguer Ramon I is named Count of Barcelona, on the death of his father Ramon Borrell.

1951 - Barcelona: Demonstrations in the city due to an increase in tram fares. Considered the first anti-Francoist, the government was forced to back down and reduce the price of a ticket.
