Les Festes de La Verneda-Sant Martí take place every year around the the Saints' Day of Sant Martí on November 11th and in 2018 last from Friday 5th to Sunday 21st October.
The Festa Major lasts more than two weeks and is very much oriented towards local people so, as you can see from the map below, events of all kinds are held in many venues of the neighbourhoods of La Verneda and Sant Martí de Provençals, both of which are in the Barcelona District of Sant Martí.
There are meals planned in the street, children's events, funs runs, exhibitions, cultural activities, havaneres and plenty of other great things taking place in a variety of locations
Although or perhaps because the Festes de La Verneda-Sant Martí are not at all oriented towards foreigners or tourists, if you live in the area or are in Barcelona on holiday you are guaranteed a uniquely local experience.
The big events are the Diada Castellera on Saturday 6th November, the Cercavila or Procession of Gegants on Sunday 7th and the Correfoc on Saturday 13th. (the itinerary of the latter two is shown on the map)
