Located in two aristocratic houses on one of the backstreets near Barcelona Cathedral in the heart of the Barri Gòtic, Hotel Neri offers a unique combination of contemporary and historic.
One of the houses is a converted 12th century palace and both have been tastefully restored and modernised so that they conserve original elements, such as some of the oldest engravings in the city, whilst offering guests all the modern comforts.
Close to the atmospheric Plaça Sant Felip Neri and the medieval Jewish Quarter, El Call, it really is difficult to imagine a more enchanting location and the philosophy behind the hotel is to offer a truly unique experience.
The hotel's 22 rooms and suites are individually decorated, some with gold and silver murals, others with large windows and private balconies or terraces, and all have individual en suite bathrooms with quartz fittings.
There is free Wi-Fi throughout and the common spaces, such as the sitting rooms and lounges have gentle music playing in the back, and the hotel even has its own library.
The bar terrace gives out onto the haunting Plaça Sant Felip Neri and the patio bar on the fourth floor, Roba Estesa, offers live music on Thursday and a complete menu of wines, cavas and cocktails.
In keeping with the hotel's philosophy, the lunchtime and evening menus at the Restaurant Neri combines modern and traditional cuisine in a sophisticated environment.

Given its location in the backstreets of the Barri Gòtic, it is a short walk from the nearest metro station and your taxi will drop you off some distance from the hotel. However, it is well worth putting up with this minor inconvenience because the location and the hotel itself are so lovely.
