1640 - Salses, Rosselló: Catalonia reconquers the town from the Kingdom of France (The Reapers' War).

2004 - Barcelona: The President 0f the Generalitat of Catalonia, Pasqual Maragall, accepts the resignation of Josep-Lluís Carod-Rovira from the position of Conseller en Cap, following a meeting he had in Perpignan with ETA leaders, although he would continue as Conseller without Portfolio.


1893 - Sarrià (Barcelona): Josep Vicenç Foix i Mas, Catalan poet, journalist and essayist. (died 1987)


1424 - Alcolea de Cinca: Isabel of Aragon and Fortià, Princess of Aragon and Countess Consort of the County of Urgell.

1850 - Mataró: Francesc Marxuach Julià, seller of doilies and fittings.

1928 - Menton, Occitània, França: Vicent Blasco Ibáñez, Valencian writer, journalist and politician (born 1867).

1993 - Palma: Josep Maria Llompart de la Peña, Mallorcan poet, essayist, cultural activist, literary critic, publisher and translator.
