1715 - Mallorca: The Borbón troops occupy the islands.
1961 - Barcelona: Òmnium Cultural is founded.
1978 - Sant Carles de la Ràpita, Tarragona: A tanker truck loaded with propane gas, suffers an accident, veers off the N-340 road into the Càmping Els Alfacs, explodes and 215 people die. As a result of the incident, a variant of the N-340 Sant Carles de la Ràpita is built.
1890 - Catarroja (l'Horta Sud): Josep Manuel Izquierdo Romeu, Valencian musician and composer (died 1951).
1977 - Benimodo (la Ribera Alta): Abel Buades Vendrell, footballer.
2000 - València: Francesc Ferrer Pastor, Valencian lexicographer.
1983 - els Monjos, Alt Penedès: Xavier Romeu i Juvé, Catalan writer, teacher and Marxist pro-independence politician.
