1203 - The first stone of the Seu Vella of Lleida is laid.

1718 - Catalonia - A royal order of Felipe V annuls the figure of the jurats and nominates regidors like in Castile.

1835 - Reus (el Baix Camp): An anti-clerical revolt extends throughout the Principality.

1872 - Terrassa. Victory of the Sometent de Terrassa led by Jaume Jover i Marquet and Valentí Alagorda i Mas against a party of 600 Carlists led by Joan Castells i Rosell, during the Third Carlist War.


1575 - Olot: Joan Pere Fontanella, Catalan jurist and politician, Conseller en Cap of Barcelona during The Reapers' War (died 1649).

1920 - Sabadell: Mercè Sorribas i Elias, Catalan radio presenter and actress (died 2000).


1969 - València, Horta: Leopold Magenti i Chelvi, Valencian composer (born 1894).

2000 - Alcúdia, Mallorca: Josep Melià i Pericàs, Mallorcan lawyer, politician and writer (born 1939).
