1686 - Arenys de Mar, Maresme: Consecration of Santa Maria d'Arenys by the Bishop of Vic.

1978 - Palma, Mallorca: The Consell General Interinsular is constituted at Bellver.

1993 - Andorra: Andorra joins the United Nations.

2010 - Barcelona: The Catalan deputies in the Parliament of Catalonia vote in favour of Popular Legislative Iniciative to abolish bullfighting in Catalonia (68 votes in favour of abolition, 55 against and 9 abstentions).


1862 - Sant Quirze Safaja: Lluís Rodés i Pou, Catalan piarist.

1879 - Alacant, Alacantí: Gabriel Miró, Valencian writer (born 1930).

1951 - Benimàmet, València: Santiago Calatrava Valls, Valencian architect, sculptor, engineer and illustrator.


2006 - València: Toni Mestre, Valencian journalist.

2010 - Barcelona: Maria Canals i Cendrós, Catalan pianist.
