1855 - Barcelona, Josep Sol i Padrís, Catalan lawyer, factory owner, journalist and protectionist politician.

1911 - València: Teodor Llorente, Valencian poet and politician, main representative of the Valencian Renaissance, died from an attack of uremia.

1938 - Inca, Mallorca: Gabriel Buades i Pons, anarcho-syndicalist, assassinated by Francoist insurgents.

1992 - Badalona, Barcelonès: Camarón de la Isla, Spanish flamenco singer.
