1843 - Gràcia, Barcelona: Josep Bosch i Carbonell, Catalan businessman and politician.

1903 - Bétera (el Camp de Túria): Alfons Roig Izquierdo, Valencian priest, writer and art critic (died 1987).


1720 - Josep de Vilamala, last President of the Generalitat of Catalonia before the first abolition of the institution on September 16th 1714.

1911 - Barcelona: Josep Espasa, Catalan publisher, founder of the Editorial Espasa (born  1840).

1988 - Antoni Castejon i Barrios, meteorologist.

1895 - Barcelona: Frederic Soler i Hubert, Serafí Pitarra, Catalan playwright, poet and theatre impresario (born  1839).

1994 - València: Juan Gil-Albert Simón, Valencian poet and essayist (born 1904).
