1688 - Manresa (el Bages): The Avalot de les Faves, a peasant revolt against the nobility, begins.

1713 - Conferència de Cervera is held with the objective of preparing an armistice in The War of the Spanish Succession, but the condition that Catalan freedoms be maintained meant that it failed.


1882 - València: Salvador Carreres Zacarés, Valencian historian (died 1973).

1884 - València: Antoni Pérez i Moya, musician.

1946 - Barcelona: Montserrat Roig i Fransitorra, Catalan writer.


1931 - Aranjuez (Spain): Santiago Rusiñol i Prats, Catalan artist and journalist.

2005 - Barcelona (Barcelonès): Jesús Moncada i Estruga, Catalan writer.
