1254 - Ximèn d'Urrea bestows the town charter to Xodos.

1313 - La Vall d'Aran becomes part of Catalonia.

1921 - The committee secretary of the CNT Evelio Boal is assassinated at the gates of El Model prison in Barcelona.

1991 - la Vall d'Aran: After 157 years, this gascon settlement in Catalonia recovers its autonomous government: El Conselh Generau.

2002 - Barcelona: Joan Solà's edition of the "Gramàtica del català contemporani" is published.

2009 - Prat de Llobregat: Terminal 1 of Barcelona Internacional Airport starts operating with its first flight to Madrid.


1873 - el Masnou, Province of Barcelona: Rosa Sensat i Vilà, Catalan teacher and educator (died 1961).

1888 - Banyoles, Province of Girona: Josep Juncà i Juscafresa, composer of sardanas.

1891 - Sabadell, Province of Barcelona: Josep Rosell i Casablancas, writer and sports lover from Sabadell.

1962 - Cabrera de Mar, Maresme: Xavier Sala i Martín, Catalan economist and Professor of Columbia University.
