La Mercè 2019

And Its Upopular Multiculti Pro-Immigrant Poster

The multicultural poster for this year's Mercè, Barcelona's annual city festival has caused widespread annoyance among local residents as it fails to represent anything traditionally Catalan.

La Mercè Festival, which runs this year from September 20th to 24th, is a showcase for traditional Catalan activities such as Castellers, Sardanas, Correfocs and Gegants and the poster normally reflects Catalan identity.

However, this year Barcelona City Council under far left mayor Ada Colau has decided to commission a poster depicting a black woman, who is hardly typically Catalan, along with a series of images that have little to do with local culture, and local people are not at all pleased.

To make matters worse, in the top left hand corner you can see depicted a boat belonging to the notorious people traffickers Proactiva Open Arms, who are based just up the coast in Badalona and have just received an award from the Catalan Parliament.

Given the current crime wave in Barcelona caused by immigrants, this is truly disgusting.

I for one will be boycotting La Mercè 2019. It will be be the first time I haven't actively participated in more than 30 years.

If you think there's been an oversight or you can provide more more detail about a particular event, I'd be delighted to hear from you.
