Created in 2006, Llevant Beach in the District of Sant Martí is the most recent of the Barcelona Beaches and, as its name suggests, also the most easterly.
The new beach, just beyond Nova Mar Bella Beach, was created when the Prim breakwater was demolished and the platform was built that will house the, yet to be built, Barcelona Marine Zoo.
Located in front of the luxury apartments buildings of Diagonal Mar and right next to the Parc del Fòrum, this section of the beach is growing in popularity and is well-connected to Barcelona City Centre by metro.
The beach is easily accessed from Rambla del Prim and the Besòs i El Maresme neighbourhood, which until recently was quite a rundown area but is now definitely going up in the world.
The Llevant is a modern beach with a lifeguard service, showers and public toilets and you can also play beach volleyball here.
