Located in the uptown neighbourhood of Sant Gervasi-Galvany, Luz de Gas is not only one of Barcelona's most select clubs but as a live music venue it has an almost legendary status.
It is actually a really cool place and fantastic environment in which to see live music and for clubbers the tasteful combination of 1970s and 80s pop and rock with black music and jazz creates a very special atmosphere.
Opened in 1995, the rococo decoration is stunning and the programme of daily concerts has included big international names as well as a staple diet of the best of the Barcelona, Catalan and Spanish music scenes.
There is also a separate bar and this club, the name of which means Gaslight in English, is definitely one of the places to be seen in Barcelona.
Luz de Gas is also one of the club venues for the International Jazz Festival of Barcelona between October and December every year so it's highly likely you're going to want to check it out.
