1523 - Palma (Mallorca): after the capitulation of the city, the royalist troop imprison Joanot Colom in Bellver Castle. As leader of the Germanies de Mallorca, he had led the resistance of the city. He was executed on June 3rd.
1926 - Barcelona: The Junta del Col·legi d'Advocats de Barcelona is forced to resign by government order because it published a list in Catalan rather than in Spanish.
1998 - Badalona (Barcelonès): The Castellers de Badalona are founded.
1493 - València: Joan Lluís Vives i March, humanist and philosopher.
1786 - Barcelona, Reus o Fulleda: Agustina d'Aragó, heroic defender of Saragossa against the French during the Peninsula War.
