1966 - Barcelona: The Francoist authorities repress a student assembly at the convent of the Caputxins de Sarrià; these events became known as la caputxinada.

1990 - Manresa (el Bages), Terrassa (el Vallès Occidental) and Badalona (el Barcelonès): Terra Lliure make terrorist attacks against the courts in these towns.


1916 - Barcelona: Carles Fontserè, Catalan illustrator and poster designer (died 2007).

1930 - Vic, Osona: Maria Àngels Anglada i d'Abadal, poet and novelist.

1951 - Barcelona: Enric Casasses i Figueres, Catalan poet and translator.


1921 - Barcelona: Enric Lluís Roura i Vilaret, cork industry businessman and politician of the Lliga Regionalista.

1964 - Madrid, Spain: José Capuz Mamano, Valencian sculptor (79 years old).
