1888 - Barcelona: The Universal Exposition opens in Parc de la Ciutadella.

1922 - Barcelona: El Camp de Les Corts opens with the match FC Barcelona 2-Saint Mirren 1.

1923 - València: The opening of Estadi de Mestalla, València CF's stadium.

1992 - Wembley Stadium, London: Futbol Club Barcelona wins its first European Cup against Sampdoria with a goal by Ronald Koeman.


1922 - Reus, Baix Camp: Gabriel Ferrater i Soler, Catalan poet, critic, translator and linguist (died 1972).

1975 - Vilanova i la Geltrú (Garraf): Isaac Gàlvez López, Catalan cyclist (died 2006).
