1448 - Earthquake with epicentre between Cardedeu and Llinars del Vallès, which caused damage to various towns (Papiol, Sentmenat, Montornès del Vallès), and to the Walls of Barcelona.

1810 - la Vall d'Aran: The Napoleonic troops occupy the town (Peninsular War).

1938 - Bombing of Alicante Central Market by the Italian fascist airforce leaving more than 300 dead.


1853 - Vila-seca, Tarragonès: Maria Elena Maseras i Ribera, Catalan teacher.

1674 - Morella: Carles Gassulla d'Ursino, Valencian jurist, politician, playwright and poet.

1930 - Sabadell: Joaquim Piña i Batllevell, Catalan Jesuit.

1989 - Barcelona: Esteve Rabat i Bergada, better known as Tito Rabat, motorbike rider.


1895 - Tarragona: Josep Yxart i de Moragas, Catalan literary critic.
