284 - Diocletian is proclaimed Roman Emperor
1490 - València: the first edition of Tirant lo blanc is published.
1936 - Buenaventura Durruti, trades unionist and revolucionary anarchist dies defending Madrid. On the same day, José Antonio Primo de Rivera, the founder of the Falange Española, is shot by firing squad in prison in Alicante.
1964 - La BordetaSants-Montjuïc, Barcelona: the trades union Comissions Obreres is founded in the parish of Sant Medir.
2005 - Gràcia, Barcelona: Els Castellers de Sants build a 2 de 8 amb folre for the first time .
2007 - Artur Mas gives the speech "El catalanisme, energia i esperança per a un país millor" and outlines his plan for refounding Catalanism.

1936 - Alicante: José Antonio Primo de Rivera, Far Right Spanish politician, founder of the Falange Española.
1936 - Sabadell, Vallès Occidental: Paco Mutlló i Noguera, businessman, banker and politician.
1941 - Premià de Dalt, El Maresme: Salvador Castells i Mas, Catalan politician persecuted by the Francoist Regime.
