1652 - Barcelona: The arrival of Joan Josep of Austria to the Port of Barcelona ends the siege of the city of Barcelona, and so brought the Guerra dels Segadors or Reapers War to an end and resulted in a victory for the Crown of Castile.
2010 - Andorra: The Andorran government passes the Nomenclàtor d'Andorra, which fixes “forma oficial dels topònims del Principat d’Andorra”.


1848 - Sabadell (Vallès Occidental): Eduard Brossa i Trullàs, Catalan map maker.
1940 - Sabadell (Vallès Occidental): Ramon Barnils i Folguera, Catalan journalist.
1950 - Xàtiva, la Costera: Alfonso Rus Terol, Valencian politician and businessman, Mayor of Xàtiva from 1995.
1954 - Granollers, Vallès Oriental: Josep Mayoral i Antigas, Catalan economist and politician, Mayor of Granollers from 2004.


1173 - Barcelona: Peronella of Aragon, Queen of Aragon, and as wife of Ramon Berenguer IV, Countess Consort of Barcelona.

1909 - Barcelona: Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia, Catalan teacher, executed as a scapegoat for the week of rioting known as the Tragic Week or Setmana Tràgica.
1953 - Barcelona: Joan Llongueras i Badia, musician, music teacher and poet.
