1867 - El Raval, Barcelona: Teatre Romea opens to the public with the drama La Rosa Blanca by owner and celebrated local playwright by Serafí Pitarra.
1987 - Gandia (la Safor): the record of the highest rainfall in the town in 24 hours is broken with a tally of 720 mm.
2015 - Barcelona: The closure of the bookshop  Negra i Criminal, which specialised in black and police literature.


1868 - Cambrils, Baix Camp: Francesc d'Assís Vidal i Barraquer, Catalan cardinal (died 1943).

1910 - Sabadell, província de Barcelona: Miquel Crusafont i Pairó, paleontologist.
1918 - Berga (Berguedà): Marcel·lí Massana i Bancells, anti-francoist fighter.


2008 - Barcelona: Joan Carrera i Planas, Catalan Catholic cleric, auxilliary bishop of Barcelona.
2013 - Ángeles Santos Torroella, Catalan surrealist painter.
