Bearing in mind the desirability of Passeig de Gracia hotels, it's not surprising to find a good selection of 4 and 5 Star Hotels.
What is a little more surprising is that there is also a cheap 1 Star Hotel on Passeig de Gràcia.
I've organised this selection of hotels starting close
to Plaça Catalunya and Barcelona City Centre and working up the hill
towards the Gràcia neighbourhood.
The truth is, though, any location on Passeig de Gràcia is almost bound to be marvellous.
Low numbers mean you're close to The Ramblas and the Barri Gòtic.
Mid-range numbers are the area around La Manzana de la Discordia and the magnificent Modernista architecture that this implies.
The higher numbers denote the fact that you're very close to the authentic old neighbourhood of Gràcia itself with its honky-tonk bars and magnicent restaurants.
Whichever Passeig de Gracia accommodation you choose, you're always close to Barcelona's sightseeing pulse and a short walk from a metro station that will take you anywhere you fancy.
Passeig de Gràcia, 29, Eixample, 08007 Barcelona
Located between Carrer Diputació and Consell de Cent at the start of Passeig de Gràcia, Eurostars BCN Design is on the same side of the road as the Manzana de la Discordia, which includes Gaudí's Casa Batlló, Puig i Cadafalch's Casa Amatller and Domènech i Montaner's Casa Lleó Morera.
BCN Design is also very close to Passeig de Gràcia Metro Station.
The rooms at Eurostars Bcn Design feature avant-garde design - some have the bath in the middle of the room and all have a flat-screen LCD TV with international channels and free Wi-Fi access.
The hotel’s bar-café serves buffet breakfast and tapas and the lounge offers views over Passeig de Gràcia as well as an outdoor terrace.
There is also a fitness centre and roof terrace with a hot tub and great city views.
Passeig de Gràcia 38-40, L'Eixample, 08010 Barcelona
Conveniently located at the bottom of Passeig de Gràcia close to
Plaça de Catalunya, the Mandarin Oriental is another Barcelona hotel
with plenty of history.
The rooms are really tastefully decorated combining shades of white and oriental designs and range from standard 5 Star to the extraordinary Penthouse Suite.
The Mandarin offers high quality Catalan cuisine at the Moments Restaurant and all-day dining at the Blanc Brasserie & Gastrobar whilst you enjoy a cocktail at the Bankers' Bar.I have also heard that the Mimosa rooftop terrace will be offering special events this summeralong with its Asian-Inspired Mediterranean fare.
For leisure and fitness, the Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona offers an indoor pool, a fitness centre as well as a sauna and jacuzzi, massage services, a spa & wellness centre and a beauty centre.
The Mandarin is definitely one of the best options for top class accommodation in the Dreta de l'Eixample.
Passeig de Gracia, 62, Eixample, 08007 Barcelona

Passeig de Gracia, 68, Eixample, 08007 Barcelona
The Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona GL is one of Barcelona's most-celebrated hotels and has been home to the rich and famous since 1918.
The Majestic offers luxurious accommodation in a neoclassical building on Passeig de Gràcia, which maintains its original façade.
It features a spa, rooftop swimming pool and a terrace with amazing views of the city.
The elegant Condal Restaurant serves à la carte dishes and there is also the Bar del Majestic piano and cocktail bar and the trendy Dolce Vita rooftop Bar, which is perfect for summer nights.
The Majestic's stylish, modern rooms feature attractive, classic décor and each has air conditioning and a flat-screen TV.
The spa features steam baths, a sauna offering a range of treatments and there is also a fitness centre.
Passeig de Gràcia, 73-75, Eixample, 08008 Barcelona
A little further up on the same side of Passeig de Gràcia you come to Hotel Condes de Barcelona, which occupies two 19th-century buildings, each with a rooftop pool and terrace.
It also features a gym, sauna and the soundproofed rooms at Condes de Barcelona are air conditioned, and offer a pillow menu, LCD satellite TV and laptop safe.
The rooms have views of Passeig de Gracia or the pretty interior Eixample courtyard, and some rooms include a small balcony.
Menus at the hotel’s 2 Michelin-starred Lasarte restaurant are designed by world-famous chef, Martín Berasategui.
Lasarte serves gourmet cuisine in an intimate setting, while the Loidi bistro offers a good-value set menu and Condes de Barcelona has an elegant rooftop bar with wonderful views.
Passeig de Gràcia, 102, Eixample, 08008 Barcelona
It's another pleasant surprise to find a reasonably priced 1 star hotel, such as Hotel Paseo de Gracia in such a select neighbourhood.
Hotel Paseo de Gracia is housed in a vintage, 19th-century building a block up from La Pedrera and almost directly opposite Diagonal Metro Station.
Hotel Paseo de Gracia is obviously not a luxury hotel but it's location at the heart of the Modernist Route really can't be bettered.
The hotel’s simple, functional guestrooms all come with a TV and some have balconies overlooking Passeig de Gracia.
There are vending machines for drinks and snacks but you'll find plenty of places to eat and drink on Passeig de Gràcia and if you cross over Diagonal you'll soon find yourself in the lovely neighbourhood of Gràcia, where prices are much more affordable.
Passeig de Gracia, 132, Gràcia, 08008 Barcelona
Right at the top of Passeig de Gràcia, and technically just outside the Eixample, you'll find the magnificent Casa Fuster.
The building was designed and built between 1908 and 1910 by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, one of the three great Modernista architects along with Gaudí and Puig i Cadafalch, so this hotel really does deserve to have Monumento in its name.
The building was taken over by Hoteles Center in 2004 and turned into one of Barcelona's most prestigious hotels.
The facade remains intact, the building's legendary bar the Café Vienès has been modernised and the restaurant is earning an excellent reputation.
