1916 - Barcelona: opening of the Teatre Goya.

2000 - Tortosa: Creation of the Plataforma en Defensa de l'Ebre to oppose the Pla Hidrològic Nacional proposed by José María Aznar's government.

2014 - Barcelona: The Assemblea Nacional Catalana hands the Parliament de Catalonia a petition of 750.000 signatures calling for the independence of Catalonia coinciding with the International Day of Democracy.


1883 - Barcelona: Esteban Terradas i Illa, Catalan physicist, mathematician and engineer.

1886 - Barcelona: Joaquim Folch i Torres, curator, historian and art critic.

1925 - Barcelona: Joaquim Xicoy i Bassegoda, Catalan lawyer and Unió Democràtica de Catalunya politician who was president of the Parliament of Catalonia and Conseller of Justice of the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia.


1757 - Vienna (Archduchy of Austria): Francesc de Castellví i Obando, Catalan pro-Austrian military leader and historian (born 1682).

1975 - Barcelona: Carlos Conti Alcántara, Catalan cartoonist (born 1916).

1978 - Barcelona: Ricardo Zamora Martínez, FC Barcelona and RCD Español goalkeeper.

2011 - Badalona: Jordi Dauder, Catalan actor, writer and poet.
