1859 - Port of Barcelona: Ictíneo I the first manned submarine, invented by Narcís Monturiol, makes its first official voyage.

1992 - In a plane, on her way to Madrid: Mary Santpere, Catalan actress, vedette and comedienne

2012 - Manaslu, Nepal: Martí Gasull i Roig, Catalan language activist (born 1969).

2014 - Barcelona: Teresa Rovira i Comas, Catalan librarian, daughter of Antoni Rovira i Virgili.
