1706 - València: Carles III arrives to swear the Furs de València.

1928 - Havana, Cuba: First meeting of the Assemblea Constituent del Separatisme Català.

2004 - Catalunya: the public health system starts to administer the day after pill free of charge.

2005 - Barcelona: the Parliament of Catalonia passes the proposal to reform the Catalan Statute of Autonomy with an 88,88% vote in favour, including all parties except the Partido Popular de Catalunya.


1897 - Gaspar Cassadó i Moreu, Catalan cellist and composer.

1910 - Sabadell: Josep Torrella i Pineda, Catalan writer and historian.

1914 - Ribes de Freser: Llàtzer Escarceller, cinema, television and theatre actor.

1914 - Sabadell: Antoni Llonch i Gambús, textile industrialist and mayor of Sabadell.

1960 - Barcelona: Victor Amela Bonilla, Catalan journalist and writer.


992 - La Seu d'Urgell, Comtat d'Urgell: Borrell II, Count of Barcelona, Girona, Osona and Urgell.

1920 - València: Josep Aguirre Matiol, Valencian poet (born 1842).

1992 - Albuixech, Horta Nord: Miguel Ambrosio Zaragoza, known as Ambrós, Valencian illustrator and author of El Capitán Trueno amongst other titles (born 1913).

2010 - Barcelona: Joan Triadú i Font, escriptor, Catalan teacher and cultural activist.
