1932 - Madrid, Spain: The Spanish Parliament passes the Statute of Autonomy of Catalonia, which was known as the Estatut de Núria.

1979 - Barcelona: Jaume Vallcorba founds the Quaderns Crema publishing house.

1997 - Girona: The Centre de Recerca i Difusió de la Imatge is constituted.

2004 - Barcelona: The Generalitat of Catalonia awards the Premi Nacional de Cultura of journalism to the online newspaper VilaWeb.


1863 - Badalona (Barcelonès): Enric Borràs i Oriol, Catalan theatre actor.

1902 - Reus (Baix Camp): Josep Iglésies i Fort, Catalan geographer, historiador and writer (died 1986).

1911 - València (l'Horta): Manuel Sanchis i Guarner, Valencian pholologist, historian and writer (died 1981).

1933 - Cullera (la Ribera Baixa): Rafael Talens Pelló, Valencian composer and music teacher.

1958 - Perafita (Osona): Ramon Besa i Camprubí, Catalan journalist


2004 - Sabadell: Josep Maria Plans i Molina, Catalan doctor and politician.

2011 - Barcelona: Josep Termes Ardèvol, Catalan historian (born 1936).

2014 - Barcelona: Montserrat Abelló i Soler, Catalan poet and translator.
